• WHAT IS PAVE SETTING?

  Pave is a setting whereby several small diamonds accentuate the main stone. The diamonds are usually set so close to one another that the metal beneath them is not visible and blends into the look of the surrounding diamonds creating a field of sparkle.

• Different types of Pave settings?
  MICROPAVE SETTING
  In this dramatic setting the diamonds are set close to one another with small beads of metal. The metal beads are so small that they are not easily visible allowing more of the diamond to be visible enhancing the sparkle of the Ring. Jeweler’s work with high precision tools and often also with lasers to set stones with this technique.

  

  FRENCH PAVE
  Like micropave this technique incorporates delicate V- shaped cut out under each diamond allowing even less metal to be visible enhancing the look and sparkle of the diamonds.

  

  SCALLOP SETTING
  Scallop setting has delectable U-shaped cut outs under the diamonds giving a distinctive look and feel to the ring

  

  CHANNEL SETTING
  Channel setting is a classic and clean setting style. As the name suggest has the diamonds held between 2 metal walls or channels.

  

  SHARED PRONG SETTING
  In this versatile style two adjoining stones are held together by the same prong thus giving a tighter and more symmetrical look.

  

  PRONG SETTING
  This is by far the most common and widely used setting type. In this technique, each diamond is held in place with a tiny metal prong which may be rounded, flat, pointed, or V-shaped as per the design

  

  BAR SETTING
  In this elegant setting style, the diamonds are held together with bars of metal on either side. This method is used when the stones a bit bigger and fewer to set

  

  BEZEL SETTING
  In this technique the diamonds are enclosed in metal. This adds security and a distinctive clean design element to your ring

  

  FISH TAIL SETTING
  In this technique the diamond is set low on the metal which has delicate fish tale shaped cuts giving it a clean flushed appearance

  

  FLUSH SETTING
  In this sleek technique the diamond is set individually directly into the metal without any prongs

  
• WHAT IS HALO SETTING?
  A halo setting is a collection of round pave set diamonds encircling a centre stone. More often than not the centre stone is also a diamond accentuating the size of the diamond and making it look bigger than it actually is. So, in short you get a bigger bang for your buck with a Halo setting

  
• WHAT IS MIRACLE PLATE SETTING?

  This is a type of setting where a shiny faceted metal plate is added around the girdle of a diamond creating the illusion of a much bigger stone. This also leads to great savings giving you maximum bang for your buck.

  
  A miracle plate setting is a type of prong setting that adds a faceted, shiny metal plate around the girdle of an illusion of a larger center stone. Excellent way to get more bling for your buck!

  
• How much should I spend on my Diamond Engagement Ring?

  According to us the conventional wisdom that one needs to spend equivalent to 2 to 3 months of one’s salary on a diamond engagement ring is pure baloney. What one needs to really spend depends on a number of factors like her personal style, her lifestyle, and how passionate she is about owning a cruelty-free diamond besides a whole lot of other factors. There is no ‘right’ amount to spend. You should spend what you are comfortable spending.
